As an Operator in our roasting facility you are responsible for our caramelised and roasted malts. Here you ensure the perfect conditions for the best quality malt, with our cutting-edge Probat drum roaster.
The Swaen is a Dutch family business that has been around for more than a hundred years. We make quality malts, the main ingredient of beer and whiskey. It is also used in the food industry, but that sounds a little less exciting. We have customers all over the world, mainly craft brewers.
What will you do in this position?
- Operating, checking and cleaning the production equipment and installations, all based on the data on production forms and additional instructions from the manager.
- Monitoring the quality and food safety of semi-finished and end products.
- Stocking goods according to planning/work order.
- Operating, setting and regulating equipment and installations for the intake, storage and transfer of product/raw materials.
- Ensuring the supply of malt (dried malt/green malt) to the burner and then setting the recipe (roasting/caramelising) according to planning/work order.
- Checking and adjusting the roasting process using a measuring and control panel via variables, such as temperatures, feed, pressures, etc.
- Recording production data.
- Storage and release of finished product.
Job requirements
- You are able to understand and execute technical process flows.
- You have a solution-oriented attitude.
- You are flexible, motivated and show initiative.
- You have completed a technical training as Process Operator B and a forklift certificate.
- Experience in the food industry is a plus.
