During the CraftBrewer Conference 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee, we took the opportunity to reconnect with our American distributor, L.D. Carlson. Our primary goal was to offer technical and commercial support. However, the team at L.D. Carlson showed us much more than we expected. They invited us for a short USA tour.
Before the conference, they organised several visits to local craft breweries. During these visits, they introduced The Swaen to brewers. We discussed quality, malt solutions, and the ideal combinations of flavours and malt types. Each event took place in a different craft brewery, attended by brewers and owners of brewing material shops.

Our USA tour: Connecting with brewers
We had the chance to explore four cities: Washington DC, Baltimore (MA), Cleveland (OH), and Columbus (OH). During our travels, we met with around 15 breweries. They including Crooked Run, The Farm, True Respite, 3 Stars, and many others. These visits provided valuable insights into the brewing scene and further strengthened our relationships with the brewing community.
A successful CraftBrewer Conference in Nashville
The CraftBrewer Conference in Nashville was a resounding success. Our booth attracted numerous brewers. They were keen to learn more about The Swaen’s portfolio and explore potential collaborations. It was also a great opportunity to reconnect with existing customers who were happy to meet us in person and share their experiences. We had the chance to discuss our products in detail, exchange brewing insights, and receive positive feedback. We made many new friends in the process.
After nine days of travelling, networking, and learning, we decided to take the final evening off and visit Broadway in Nashville. There, we were enchanted by the lively atmosphere and the vibrant music scene. The incredible hospitality of the city brought a perfect end to our trip.
The experience was incredibly rewarding. We look forward to building even stronger connections with the American craft brewing community in the future, expanding our reach and supporting brewers with high-quality malt solutions.
