The Swaen is an international leader in the malting industry. To strengthen our position, we’re looking for an ambitious Digital Sales Pioneer intern to help us develop the sales strategy of the future. In this internship, you’ll work on smarter mapping of the global craft beer market. You’ll use advanced digital techniques and AI models to identify new opportunities and optimize our sales processes.
Location: Kloosterzande (The Swaen)
Level: HBO (3rd or 4th year)
Direction: Commercial Economics, International Business, Business IT or Digital Business
The Swaen is a Dutch family business that has been around for more than a hundred years. We make quality malts, the main ingredient of beer and whiskey. It is also used in the food industry, but that sounds a little less exciting. We have customers all over the world, mainly craft brewers.
What are you going to do?
You’re the driving force behind an innovation project centered around data. Your responsibilities are broad and challenging:
- Smart Market Analysis: You’ll develop smart methods to scout independent breweries worldwide that fit our unique product portfolio (including specialty malts).
- AI & Automation: You’ll research and implement smart algorithms and digital tools to enrich customer information and recognize market patterns.
- Process Optimization: You’ll ensure a seamless connection between acquired market data and our internal systems, working closely with the sales and marketing teams.
- Strategic Thinking: You’ll advise on how to get our message to the right brewer at the right time using data-driven insights.
Who are we looking for?
- You are pursuing a relevant higher professional education (HBO) degree and have a strong affinity for the digital world and a commercial mindset.
- You are curious about the possibilities of Artificial Intelligence and know how to translate this into commercial opportunities.
- You work in a structured manner, have strong analytical skills, and enjoy independently developing projects from start to finish.
- You speak and write fluent English (given our international character).
- An affinity for the (craft) beer sector is a definite plus!
