Financial Controller

Incorporated in 1906 The Swaen is a producer of malts and specialty malts for the beer, craft beer, food and chemical industry. The family business is focussing with the young and eager team on the craft beer industry. New and digital services to our customer are as important to us as highest quality malts.

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, hands-on Financial Controller, to keep all things transactional ticking over in our Finance team (with a dash of HR and payroll added for good measure). You work with a high degree of independence and you manage the employees in the financial department. Together with the Financial Manager you are the financial team.

Tasks and responsibilities
– Responsible for the financial administration
– Managing the administrative employees
– Prepare monthly management reports
– Assisting in preparing budgets
– Preparation of annual report
– Taking care of VAT-declarations
– Debtor management
– Monitor cash flow
– Optimize processes
– Payroll administration

The Swaen is looking for a professional who:
– Has ideally a minimum of 3 years work experience with the majority in finance and accounting
– Wants to grow with our organization
– Has a Bachelor in Accounting or equivalent
– Has ideally a minimum of 3 years work experience with the majority in finance and accounting
– Is ready for the next step in his/her career or does have several years of experience in a similar position
– Is excellent in Excel, and has affinity with IT tools
– Has good communication skills in English
– Takes initiative and works under own direction
– Is detail-oriented, and able to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines
– Works in a systematic, methodical, and orderly way
– Initiates and generates activity and introduces changes into work processes
– Adherence to deadlines
– Have done, can do, will do approach
– Confident, proactive, approachable personality with team spirit
– Dynamic, eager to learn, fast learning and adapt quickly
– Has a service-minded approach and likes to help your colleagues
– Experience with Navision is a prĂ©
